Rum and tequila are the spirits that make a Calgary summer feel longer than it is. Our rum shelf runs from light white rum for mojitos and daiquiris, through gold and aged rums with vanilla and toffee, to dark and overproof bottles for a proper dark and stormy - plus spiced rum for anyone who likes their cola with a bit of personality.
On the tequila side we stock 100% agave blanco for margaritas and palomas, reposado rested in oak for a softer, rounder pour, and anejo for sipping neat the way it is meant to be drunk. Mezcal is stocked at select stores for anyone chasing smoke.
Blanco is unaged or barely rested, bright and peppery with clear agave character - the right choice for a margarita. Reposado spends two months to a year in oak, picking up vanilla and caramel while keeping agave up front. Anejo ages one to three years and drinks closer to a whisky, which is why it is worth sipping rather than shaking.
White rum keeps mojitos and daiquiris clean; gold and aged rum add depth to a rum and coke or a mai tai; dark rum floats beautifully on a dark and stormy with ginger beer. Spiced rum is a shortcut to flavour when you do not want to build a cocktail. Round out the bar with our vodka selection and gin shelf.
